SAMFA Season Opening President’s Message

Welcome to the start of the Capital District Minor Football Association’s season.  This weekend, all of our teams will be competing against other teams within our division.  Parents, coaches, and especially the players are excited about getting into the action of the game and competing against their peers.  Coaches and team staff have been working hard to develop the skills required to be successful on the field.  Success is much more than a win on the scorecard.  It is about developing team spirit, developing player skill, and learning to work together to accomplish your goals.  With our quality coaches in place I am sure that success will be a part of your child’s football experience.  Something new this year is our participation in the Grey Cup festivities.  One St. Albert team in each division will be playing mini-games in downtown Edmonton throughout the week prior to the Grey Cup to promote Minor Football.   Several of our Midget players will be helping referee those games.  We will also have players help with set-up at the Greg Cup.  This will be a great opportunity for SAMFA to showcase the talent that we have.  Remember to check your team page on our website at www.samfa.ca for team information and also our district website at www.cdmfa.com for league information, schedules, and game results.  Also, please support team and SAMFA fundraisers to help keep our fees down as much as possible.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at porterkyle@shaw.ca.

Pub Night and Silent Auction Fundraiser
Saturday September 18, 2010 at t 7:00PM @ “The Beer Hunter Bar and Grill”

This is SAMFA's biggest fundraiser of the year, come out and have some fun.
Tickets are $10 per person, and with your ticket you get 15% off all regular
priced food and drinks. There will be a silent auction, raffles, good music and room to dance if the mood strikes you!

Tickets will be available very soon through your team manager or delegate, but
get them early as there are a limited number of tickets available.
