SAMFA Casino Oct 11 - 12
Thu Oct 09, 2008
As most of you know, SAMFA will be working a Casino this weekend (Saturday Oct .11 & Sunday Oct. 12th) at the Gold Dust  here in St. Albert, This is a very important fund raiser for us and we had our full complement of volunteers. Unfortunately, due to illness and other circumstances we are a couple short. We really need your assistance in filling these few positions. Please contact Robert Fernandez  via email, robert.fernandez@gov.ab.ca , or phone (780-868-1516) if you are able to help out. This is short notice but we do need your help.

SAMFA DANCE
Sat Sep 20, 2008

St. Albert High School Football Association

Kinsmen Club of St. Albert

Field of Dreams

Dance and Silent Auction

It is now time for the Adults to RUMBLE at the

SAMFA Annual Fundraising Dance and Silent Auction.  This will be a great way to get better acquainted with the other parents, coaches, and executive and guaranteed to give you the most bang for your entertainment buck in St. Albert.

Saturday September 20, 2008

7:00 – 1:00

Kinsmen Corral

$30.00 couple

$15.00 person

The night will feature:

·        Live band – “3 Hole Punch” - A SAMFA favorite

·        Silent Auction with great prizes

·        Cash Bar

·        Late night lunch

This is an important fundraiser for St. Albert Football, with the upcoming completion of the new field. In order to make this fundraiser a success, we need your help as well as donations of silent auction items. We are asking that each team provide two volunteers to help in the set up and take down. We also ask that each team try and provide 3 prizes for the silent auction.  These can be business donations or you can get a collection together for a prize or gift certificate.  The dance is once again earlier this year, so we will need to start collecting those silent auction items over the summer months. Get your tickets early and ensure you get a chair at your team table. Anyone with questions, please contact Michelle Connolly @ 459-9814 or email connfam411@hotmail.com

Conner Blackburn
Mon Sep 01, 2008

The St Albert football community was overwhelmed 2 weekends ago after learning of the devastating boating accident involving Panther player Connor Blackburn. Connor suffered both head and internal injuries and was admitted into the Stollery Pediatric  I.C.U. It has been a stressful time for Connor's parents and friends.  The injuries were very serious but he is making progress and has been taken off the ventilator and Doctors are very optimistic as he begins his recovery from these devastating injuries.
A
ll of the St Albert teams will be wearing #21 on the back of their helmet as they support their friend and teammate throughout this ordeal.

Connor's progress can be followed through the following link:

Football friends, fellow team mates and SAMFA players are welcome to drop the Blackburn’s a note on that website; they do read the messages to Connor.

Welcome to the 2008 Minor Football Season
Thu Jul 10, 2008

I would like to welcome all the returning and new players to St .Albert Minor Football's 2008 season.

It is hard to believe that 33 years ago when SAMFA started that we would finally see our own regulation football field completed this year. The completion date of the field may allow only us a few games this season, but none the less we along with High School football now have a home.

I hope football provides you with a very satisfying season.  Good  luck, play hard and have some fun.

Mike Moulds

SAMFA President
